Vaccinations: Protection Tailored to Your Pet

Vaccines are one of the most effective ways to protect dogs and cats from serious, contagious, and sometimes fatal diseases. Some also help protect people and other animals in our community.

Core vaccines

Core vaccines are recommended for nearly all dogs or cats because the diseases they prevent are widespread, serious, or easily spread. Rabies vaccination is also required by law in Florida for dogs and cats.

Lifestyle (non-core) vaccines

Lifestyle vaccines are recommended based on your pet's risk. We consider factors such as:

- Time spent outdoors or around wildlife

- Boarding, grooming, daycare, or dog parks

- Travel

- Contact with other pets in the home or neighborhood

A schedule built for your pet

There is no one-size-fits-all plan. Young pets typically need a series of vaccines to build protection, followed by boosters throughout life. Our veterinarians tailor each schedule to your pet's age, health, history, and lifestyle, and we review it at every wellness visit.

Are vaccines safe?

Vaccines are very safe for most pets. Mild, short-lived effects such as tiredness or soreness can occur. Serious reactions are rare, and we are happy to talk through any concerns.

Not sure which vaccines your pet needs? Ask our team. We'll help you decide.
